Description
A very free and illustrative piece. The mouth is closed, marked by a deep incision. The snout is flat, with two round nostrils. Small oval eyes, with no indication of eyelids. The horns are proportionally very large, with a smooth surface, and divided into two levels by the crown. The ears are large and triangular and occupy the internal space of the circle that depicts the horns. The front limbs are illustrated, doubling up under the stomach and disappearing to merge with the block. Although depictions of goats in Pre-Roman sculpture is less common than of other animals such as lions, it performed a similar role and could have formed part of some sort of funeral building.
