Description
Small jug with slightly truncated conical neck, globular body and two vertical three cord handles. One handle and the base are missing. Decoration in cuerda seca parcial consists of four horizontal bands. The neck has a band with a eternity cord theme, and another with vertical triangle motifs. Another two bands emerge on the body beneath two smooth narrow fillets: one has a lotiform motif between interlinked gussets; the other has inverted triangles. This type of small jug (with fine walls and polished transparent clay) is thought to have formed part of a dinner service set and was used for drinking. This is because the porosity of the polish allows a slight evaporation, which helps to keep the water fresh.
