Description
Blade with slightly convex sides. The base has two well-shaped lateral notches for attachment to the handle. The support was a large silex plate, highly-altered by the retouches. It was discovered as part of the funeral vestments of a collective burial site, in a silo or artificial cave. These funeral structures were very common during the Chatholithic period in Lower Andalusia. The item's excellent quality and the fact that there are no signs of use or erosion suggests that it was not used for everyday activities, but had a ritualistic or more presitigious use.
