Jerez emerged as a city in the Spanish-Muslim era and presents extensive monumental heritage with 28 assets of cultural interest, 47 historical sites and numerous assets of intangible heritage.

The culture in Jerez has differential elements such as flamenco or gypsy culture.  It also highlights the wine culture and the strong identity of its traditional festivals.

Culture is a strategic sector for the city of Jerez, both socially and in its economic activity. Every year countless events are scheduled, which make the city stand out in the cultural panorama of Andalusia.

The city has presented Jerez's Candidacy for European Capital of Culture in 2031. One more example of the commitment to the development of Jerez as a City of Culture.
